Siena Saints Beat Fresno State Winning CBI Tournament

Siena College is located in a small hamlet outside of Latham New York, primarily a basketball school with a strong alumni they have completed a minor miracle for the school and the fans winning the CBI Tournament.  Fresno State was the foe and it was a two out of three tournament.  The MAAC is not known for it's hoop but Siena was invited to participate and knocked off some nice talent to make it to the finals beating Penn State to get a shot.  Jimmy Patsos the 1st year coach is pretty likeable and did a great job getting them to the finals.  You have to be happy for a small school like the Saints to even get this far.  Schools like Siena can't the recruits like other top division one schools so they have to mold the kids and work with them more.  The Capital District should be proud of this accomplishment, you won't see it to many times.  Siena has made it to the tournament a few times in the past and the NIT as well but this was different, after a losing season a year ago and a 500 record this year.  They came through for the 1st year head coach and the fans and students couldn't of been prouder.  It's good to see the green and gold still playing and fighting till the end.  What a great honor to win their first division one tournament in basketball.  Cheers to the guys in Loudonville and I hope you go further next year.
